Hey guys, been a while since I made a tutorial, there are a lot of phones being released and it’s hard to keep up right now.
Well, I don’t know about you, but in most cases when I’m on my Facebook Newsfeed, I just hate when those videos start playing and even worse, using up my data.
If you hate this too, or just don’t see the need for videos to get played without your permission (yes, you are the king or queen of your device), stick around so I can show you how to disable it.
I already made a video on this, you can watch it if you want. For those of you who love reading, just follow the steps below.
This is Shaibu from Shu’s Techs, and today, I will be showing How to Disable Facebook Videos from Automatically Playing on Your Android Phones.
With that being said, let’s get to it.
How to Disable the Auto Play
So when you start up the Facebook Application, the first thing you see should be similar to the image you can see here.
What you need to do is tap the three horizontal bars on the top right, this should take you to the part where you can view your profile and do some other stuff. Scroll down to “Settings & Privacy” and tap it.
A list of options should be displayed, tap “Settings”.
After tapping “Settings”, you get a whole new list of options again, scroll all the way down until you get to “Media and Contacts”, tap it and scroll down till you see “Autoplay”.
Select “Autoplay” and then finally, tap “Never Autoplay Videos”.
This should stop Videos from automatically playing when you use the Facebook App on your Android phone.
If you go “back”, you will find other options you could play around with like:
- Videos in News Feed Start with Sound: this only works when videos are allowed to autoplay, if you enable it, videos will start with sound, but if disabled, videos don’t start with sound, you’ll have to manually increase the volume.
- Sounds in the App: all those little sounds the app makes when you like a picture or comment, well, you can turn them off using this option.
For now, these are the only ones that matter concerning sounds and videos, but if you have any questions about the app, let me know in the comments and I’ll do my best to help you out.
Okay guys, that’s it for now, make sure you share, comment and like if this helped you.
Keep yourselves awesome, I’ll see you next time.
